January 2021 Reminders

Happy New Year to all of our Mustang Families. A CDSBEO Board email was sent to all families on Thursday, December 31st through our automated system, outlining the procedures for the Ministry Lockdown. Please read the following key points very carefully:

Grade 7 and 8 students: Are scheduled to return to school on Monday, January 11th. Buses will begin running on this day. Students are expected to be in full uniform on January 11th. This week students will be learning online through their TEAMS platform. Classes will take place in "real time". Attendance will be taken this week. On Monday, January 4th, however, classes will not begin until second period (9:10 am), as staff will be involved in a meeting. Staff will be posting messages on their sites throughout the next day. Please check your teams sites for more information from your classroom teachers.

Grades 9-12 students: Are scheduled to return to school on Monday, January 25th. Buses will begin running on this day for all high school students. Students will be expected to be in full uniform on Monday, January 25th. Classes will resume in regular time, meaning students will need to be online and participating in classes throughout a regularly scheduled school day. Teachers will be online and available from 8:00 - 10:00 (period 1) and 10:10-12:10 (period 2) each day during the lockdown. Attendance will be taken during these times. Please note that class work IS NOT OPTIONAL during this lockdown. Students are expected to participate in online learning, just as they would in regular classes. For Monday, January 4th only, students will not be expected to be online for Period 1 class until 9:00 am, as the staff will be involved in a meeting.

Should anything change, we will be sure to communicate with families as new information becomes available.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Ms. O'Brien ([email protected]) or call the St. Michael CHS school office (613) 258-7232 during regular school hours this week.

Thank you for your patience as we transition into online learning.

Take Care and Stay Safe!
